QRFlow is a Chrome extension that generates QR codes from webpages, URLs, selected text, links, images, Wi-Fi information, UPI payment information, email addresses, phone numbers, and other content intentionally provided by the user.
Privacy is a core part of QRFlow’s design. QRFlow processes QR content locally in your browser and does not send QR content to a remote server.
1. Information QRFlow Processes
QRFlow may temporarily process information that you intentionally provide or select for the purpose of generating a QR code, including:
- Current webpage URL and title
- URLs
- Selected text
- Link URLs
- Image URLs
- Wi-Fi network information
- UPI payment information
- Email addresses
- Email subject and message
- Phone numbers
- Other text entered into the QRFlow interface
This information is processed locally by the extension to generate the requested QR code.
2. No Server-Side Processing
QRFlow does not send the content used to generate QR codes to a QR-generation server or other remote processing service.
QR generation takes place locally within the Chrome extension.
For example, when you enter a UPI ID or Wi-Fi password, QRFlow uses that information locally to construct the QR payload. It is not uploaded to a QRFlow server.
3. Browsing Information
QRFlow does not collect or maintain a history of the websites you visit.
When you explicitly use a QRFlow feature for the current webpage, the extension may temporarily access the current tab’s URL and title solely to generate the requested QR code.
QRFlow does not use this information to create a browsing profile, advertising profile, or analytics profile.
4. Context Menu Information
QRFlow provides browser context-menu actions such as:
- Generate QR Code from Selected Text
- Generate QR Code for Link
- Generate QR Code for Image URL
- Generate QR Code for This Page
When you explicitly select one of these actions, the relevant content is processed locally to generate the QR code.
QRFlow does not transmit this content to a server.
5. QR History
QRFlow provides an optional local history feature.
History is disabled by default.
If you enable history, eligible QR entries may be stored using Chrome’s local extension storage so that you can access recently generated QR codes.
QRFlow does not transmit this history to a server.
For additional privacy protection:
- Wi-Fi QR entries are not saved to history.
- UPI QR entries are not saved to history.
- You can disable history at any time.
- You can clear locally stored history through the extension.
6. Wi-Fi Information
QRFlow allows you to create Wi-Fi QR codes.
Wi-Fi information, including the network name and password, is processed locally to construct the QR payload.
QRFlow does not transmit Wi-Fi credentials to a server.
Wi-Fi QR data is not stored in QRFlow history.
7. UPI Information
QRFlow provides an optional UPI QR generator.
You may enter information such as:
- UPI ID
- Payee name
- Amount
- Payment note
This information is processed locally to construct a UPI payment URI and QR code.
QRFlow does not process payments, verify payments, access bank accounts, or transmit UPI information to a QRFlow server.
UPI QR data is not stored in QRFlow history.
8. Clipboard
When you choose Copy Image, QRFlow may use the browser’s Clipboard API to place the generated QR image on your clipboard.
Clipboard access occurs only as part of the user-requested copy action.
QRFlow does not collect clipboard contents.
9. Downloads
When you choose to download a QR code, QRFlow creates the requested PNG or SVG file locally through the browser’s download functionality.
QRFlow does not upload downloaded files to a server.
10. Analytics and Tracking
QRFlow does not use:
- Advertising trackers
- Behavioral tracking
- Website analytics scripts
- User profiling
- Keystroke logging
- Mouse tracking
- Browsing-history tracking
- Remote telemetry
QRFlow does not require an account.
11. Third-Party Services
QRFlow does not require a third-party QR-generation service or cloud processing service.
QR generation is performed locally within the extension.
QRFlow does not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
12. Permissions
QRFlow requests only the Chrome permissions necessary for its functionality.
activeTab
Used to access the currently active webpage’s URL and related information when you explicitly invoke QRFlow.
contextMenus
Used to provide QR-generation actions in Chrome’s right-click context menu.
storage
Used for locally storing extension settings and, when enabled, eligible QR history.
These permissions are not used to collect or sell user data.
13. Data Security
Because QRFlow processes QR content locally and does not transmit it to a QRFlow server, QR payloads do not need to leave your browser for QR generation.
You should nevertheless avoid entering highly sensitive information into any software unless you understand the implications of doing so.
14. Children’s Privacy
QRFlow is a general-purpose browser utility and is not specifically directed toward children.
QRFlow does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if QRFlow’s functionality or data practices change.
If material changes are made, the updated policy will be published on this page with a new Last updated date.
