Overview
ImageLens is a Chrome extension that helps users inspect and download images from web pages. Your privacy is important to us, and ImageLens is designed with a privacy-first approach.
Information We Collect
ImageLens does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information.
Specifically, ImageLens does not collect:
- Name, email address, or contact information
- Browsing history
- Authentication credentials or passwords
- Financial or payment information
- Location information
- Health information
- Personal communications
- User activity for analytics or tracking
How ImageLens Works
When you enable ImageLens for the current webpage, the extension temporarily analyzes images displayed on that page in order to:
- Display image resolution and dimensions
- Show image format and file size (when available)
- Identify higher-resolution image sources when available
- Allow local resizing and format conversion
- Download the selected image
All processing is performed locally within your browser.
Images are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.
Local Storage
ImageLens uses Chrome’s Storage API only to save your preferences, such as:
- Theme preference
- Default download format
- Image quality settings
- Resize preferences
- Other extension configuration options
These settings remain on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
Permissions Used
ImageLens requests only the permissions required for its functionality.
activeTab
Allows ImageLens to operate only on the webpage you explicitly activate it for.
scripting
Allows ImageLens to inject its image inspection panel into the current page after you enable the extension.
storage
Stores your extension preferences locally on your device.
downloads
Allows ImageLens to save the image you choose to your Downloads folder.
ImageLens does not request permanent access to all websites.
Data Sharing
ImageLens does not:
- Sell user information
- Share user information with third parties
- Transfer user information to advertisers
- Use collected information for marketing
- Build user profiles
- Track browsing behavior
Remote Code
ImageLens does not load or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly, or any other executable code from external servers. All executable code is packaged within the extension.
Third-Party Services
ImageLens does not include:
- Analytics services
- Advertising networks
- Tracking SDKs
- Social media integrations
Children’s Privacy
ImageLens is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
