DOM Lens (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension developed by Manish N. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles user information.
Information We Collect
DOM Lens does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information.
The Extension does not collect:
- Name or email address
- Phone number
- Passwords or authentication credentials
- Payment information
- Location information
- Browsing history
- Personal communications
How the Extension Works
When activated by the user, DOM Lens temporarily reads the Document Object Model (DOM) and computed CSS styles of the currently active webpage to display inspection information such as:
- Element dimensions
- Layout properties
- Typography
- Colors
- Spacing
- CSS selectors
This processing occurs entirely within your browser and is used solely to provide the inspection functionality.
No webpage content is transmitted to any external server.
Data Storage
DOM Lens may store user preferences (such as extension settings) using the Chrome Storage API.
These settings remain on your device or within your Chrome account synchronization (if Chrome Sync is enabled). No personal information is stored.
Data Sharing
DOM Lens does not sell, rent, or share user information with third parties.
No analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.
Remote Code
DOM Lens does not download or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other executable code. All functionality is included within the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
Permissions
DOM Lens requests only the permissions required for its functionality:
- activeTab – to inspect the currently active webpage after the user activates the extension.
- scripting – to inject the inspection script into the active webpage.
- storage – to save user preferences.
These permissions are used solely to provide the extension’s features.
Children’s Privacy
DOM Lens is not directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
